Accountability Group Guidelines |

OutcomeThe outcome of Accountability Groups is to hold each other to a higher standard, not settling for less. And EVERYONE ACHIEVING THEIR GOALS through the power and synergy of TEAM. Together Everyone Achieves More Group Size- Select your Accountability Group members - 6-8 is an ideal group size
Meetings- Agree on a time and place to meet
- Be punctual
- Send an apology PRIOR to the meeting if you are unable to attend
- Finish the meeting on time (we suggest 90 minute duration)
- Select a chairperson and secretary for that meeting
- The chair person is responsible for running the meeting and ensuring that all members have an opportunity to share (10-15 minutes each)
- The secretary is responsible for taking any notes and then emailing them to the group, as well as emailing any actions to each specific member
Establish the workability of the group, asking:
- What are my outcomes for being a part of a Accountability Group?
- How can the other members best support me?
- How can I serve/support the other members?
- What skills do I have that I can utilize to maximise the effectiveness of the group?
- Each member has a determined slot of time (usually 10-15 minutes) to discuss and review their goals, purpose and action plan (use the Accountability Group Worksheet)
- Assist in supporting, holding that member accountable, developing solutions and finding resources to achieve their outcomes
- Spend 5 minutes asking powerful outcome focused questions of that member, networking resources and ideas
- Celebrate any successes (high fives, hugs, applause - be creative!)
Commitment It really takes something to be a part of a Accountability Group: - Commit to attending all meetings
- Commit to being held accountable and holding other the group members accountable for achieving their goals
- Commit to using positive language and powerful questions
- Commit to being solution and outcome focused
- Commit to encouraging, inspiring and motivating everyone in the group - including yourself - to creating results that outstanding
- Keep the focus on the goals.
- Have a positive attitude and aim to be supportive, encouraging and open with each other
- If discussions are needed outside the group, ask for permission to call someone after the meeting to follow up
- All conversations should include all members present (ie. no side conversations)
- Honour confidentiality of ALL participants.
- Respect privacy of both the names of other participants and information they share.
During the course of the goals group you may be exposed to confidential information about the businesses of other participants or future businesses they may be considering. All the members of the group will have to agree not to disclose to any person or business entity any confidential information about the interests or business of the participants and will not use for their own any such information acquired. Confidential information includes but is not limited to: - Business methods
- Financial or commercial affairs
- Future plans and projections
- Intellectual property whether registered or not
- Supplier or client names or other information
- Information relating to technology
- Product information and specifications
- Group understands that the confidential information does not include information that is in the public domain or becomes public domain by an authorised disclosure
ResignationResignation from the group should be made in person at the resignee’s final meeting. This enables discussion and feedback on the issue for resignation, perhaps with a resolution that is good for the resignee and the reminder of the group Accountability Groups WorksheetThis worksheet is designed to be used by groups at each meeting.
