Kate is a Psychologist with many years' experience working with people striving for change in their lives. After working in a number of clinical settings, Kate moved into health promotion and operated a successful workplace health promotion consultancy in the Riverina region of NSW for 6 years before moving to Queensland.
After working in Townsville for 2 years developing a diabetes project for rural and remote GPs, and also doing some training with indigenous health workers at Palm Island, she moved to Brisbane and spent 4 years completing her PhD on organisational practices that affect teachers' stress in schools, followed by postdoctoral research designing and evaluating a school-based program that children's resilience, particularly addressing cultural factors with migrant and refugee children. During this time, she also contributed to a 3-year program looking at ways schools can become better at promoting children's skills in coping with adversity.
She has also developed a wide range of adult education programs delivered both as workshops and as self-help programs including relationship survival and enrichment courses, wellness programs, and life skills such as public speaking and coping with life change.
Kate now operates her own consultancy service in Brisbane and is extending her own skills by designing online interactive personal development programs, as well as offering life skills group workshops and corporate programs aimed at promoting organisational health. She is committed to working within a "positive psychology" model, which naturally led her to Life Coaching as a way to enhance her clients' strengths and draw on the resources they have gained from their own life experiences to move forward and achieve new goals.
